Fitzgerald Optometry has offered continuous optometric services in Williamstown since 1993. John Fitzgerald has owned and worked at the practice for the past 25 years.
Our focus is the health and wellbeing of your eyes. We believe this is best managed by regular care from the same optometrist, ensuring even minor changes in your vision are detected. We have invested in the latest digital imagining equipment to allow us to accurately record the condition of your eyes and follow eye health changes over time.
Fitzgerald Optometry offer solutions for all your vision needs. We recognise that eyewear is not only about enhancing your vision. It is an accessory that needs to compliment your personality and lifestyle. We are dedicated to helping you find eyewear that is right for you and your budget. We also provide the latest in lens design technology.
At Fitzgerald Optometry we pride ourselves on providing the best quality care and products of the same calibre. As an independent optometry practice we are able to provide flexibility and concern to best suit the community we are part of.
It is important to check your eyes regularly. Whether or not you need glasses, it’s important to get regular check-ups to ensure your eyes are happy and healthy. Thanks to our comprehensive eye tests Williamstown residents can enjoy optimal eye health, with services delivered by a qualified and experienced team.
Our optometrists will also be able to instruct you on how frequently you should book eye tests, with more frequent check-ups being important if your family has a history of eye disease, or if you already wear prescription glasses or contact lenses. As well as eye disease, optometrists are also able to detect problems caused in the eye by other general health issues such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
If any serious eye disease is detected during testing, our optometrists can provide a referral to a trusted ophthalmologist (eye specialist) for further investigation and treatment. For minor eye infections and inflammation a prescription for a topical therapeutic agent may be supplied by the optometrist. The optometrist will fully explain any problems they detect and is available to answer any questions you might think of at the time, or later.
Results from these tests are stored electronically and can be compared at a later date.
